Google Ads Benchmark Calculator

Enter your campaign numbers and see how your CTR, CPC, conversion rate, CPA and ROAS compare against directional industry benchmarks — with a performance score and what to fix first.

Benchmarks shown are directional industry averages, not Deltanoid-managed-account data. Use them to spot gaps — then request a free audit to compare against your own account.

Pull five numbers straight from your Google Ads dashboard — spend, impressions, clicks, conversions and (optionally) revenue. The calculator derives your CTR, CPC, conversion rate, CPA and ROAS and rates each against a directional benchmark for your industry, campaign type and market.

How to Use the Google Ads Benchmark Calculator

Most advertisers know their spend and their conversions, but have no reliable way to answer the more important question: is this good? A conversion rate of 3% might be excellent in one industry and poor in another. A ₹90 cost per click could be a bargain for real estate and painfully expensive for a restaurant. Benchmarks turn raw numbers into judgement.

This tool takes the five numbers you can pull straight from your Google Ads dashboard — spend, impressions, clicks, conversions and (optionally) revenue — and derives your CTR, CPC, conversion rate, cost per acquisition and ROAS. It then compares each one against a directional benchmark for your industry, campaign type and market, and rolls the result into a single performance score out of 100.

Select your industry, campaign type (Search, Performance Max, Display or Shopping) and market (India, UAE or Global), enter your monthly figures, and press Compare My Performance. The result is instant and nothing is stored.

The Five Metrics That Matter

Click-Through Rate (CTR)
Clicks ÷ impressions. A low CTR usually signals weak ad relevance, poor targeting or uncompetitive positioning. Higher is generally better — but never at the expense of lead quality.
Cost Per Click (CPC)
Spend ÷ clicks. Driven by competition, Quality Score and keyword intent. A high CPC isn't automatically bad if those clicks convert profitably — context matters.
Conversion Rate
Conversions ÷ clicks. The clearest signal of whether your landing page, offer and targeting are aligned with search intent. This is where most wasted spend hides.
Cost Per Acquisition (CPA)
Spend ÷ conversions. The number that connects advertising to business reality. A rising CPA against a stable conversion rate points to a traffic-quality or bidding problem.
Return On Ad Spend (ROAS)
Revenue ÷ spend. The profitability metric. We compare your ROAS against a break-even benchmark derived from your own average order value and the directional CPA — so it reflects your economics, not a generic target.
Performance Score
Each metric is rated against its benchmark, scored 0–100 and averaged. It is a directional health indicator, not a grade — one strong metric can't fully mask a broken funnel elsewhere.

Where These Benchmarks Come From

Every benchmark in this calculator is a directional industry average — a reasonable reference range for a given industry, campaign type and market. They are labelled “Directional Benchmark” throughout, and they are deliberately not presented as Deltanoid-managed-account results.

We take this distinction seriously. Real account performance varies enormously with competition, seasonality, tracking accuracy, offer strength and management quality. Quoting a single “average” as if it were a guaranteed outcome would be misleading, so we don't. The only way to know precisely how your account compares is to look at your account — which is exactly what a free Google Ads audit does.

Assumptions this tool makes
  • Every benchmark is a directional industry average for the selected industry, campaign type and market — a hand-authored editorial reference, not measured data from a study or from Deltanoid client accounts.
  • Each metric's rating uses fixed editorial thresholds (within ±10% of benchmark counts as Average; ±25% marks the Excellent / Needs Attention boundaries).
  • The ROAS benchmark is derived from your own numbers: your average order value (revenue ÷ conversions) divided by the directional CPA — a break-even reference, not an industry ROAS figure.
  • The performance score is a plain average of the per-metric ratings — every metric weighs the same, whatever its impact on your P&L.
Limitations
  • Percentage differences are directional, not precise — real account performance varies with competition, seasonality, tracking accuracy, offer strength and management quality.
  • It reads one month of totals: a launch, a sale period or a tracking gap will legitimately skew a single month away from any benchmark.
  • Industries and markets are broad buckets — your niche, city and price point can sit far from the bucket average without anything being wrong.
  • It cannot see inside the account. Search terms, Quality Score, bidding strategy and Performance Max configuration — where the actual fixes live — need an account-level audit.
